A lot of score plateaus come from improper or rushed question review. When you review your practice sessions or full-lengths, you shouldn’t miss those questions again if reviewed correctly. I outlined a checklist below:
What’s included as an MCAT Edge Student:
Get a personalized plan that fits your timeline and responsibilities based on a diagnostic quiz.
Practice with 1,200+ high-quality questions the right way.
Full-length 1 has been released!
Use an AI tutor to understand why you missed questions.
Adjust strategy based on performance.
Get support all the way through full-lengths and test day.
Clarify the miss: Was it because you misread the question, was it a logic error, was it a content gap, or was it timing/rushing?
Restate the question in your own words: If you cannot restate cleanly, you may have not understood what was being asked
Identify the decision point: What specific piece of information should have guided the answer? Was it a keyword, figure, variable change, or some other constraint?
Explain to yourself why your answer was tempting and why it was incorrect
Follow-up action: I recommend adding a custom Anki card about the decision point that caused you to get the question card
Move on and don’t beat yourself up
Hope everyone is staying safe and warm! Email me if you have any questions.
